Since the beginning of my artistic activity as well as my didactic work I have focused on photography and the use of related media. However, I don’t resign from manual graphic expression, especially drawing. The subject of my work not only is concerned with creating new visual objects but also searching for contexts of their occurring. I’m interested in site-specific type intervention activities where form and tools change according to the requirements. From my point of view, artistic expression doesn’t only need to be limited to artefacts; it can also be manifested in initiatives, concepts and events; a pivotal element of my artistic activities are undertakings of such kind. Simultaneously with my own artistic expression I undertake curatorial works, which are mainly concerned with the city of Lodz - a modern and a historical one.

I take interest in the subject matter of identity and significance of places - which can also be interpreted in the context of a classical ‘genius loci’ motive. An essential point of focus for me is the symbolism of light and the significance of time as well as the role of photography taken as a medium of documenting time - a collection seen as a form of archive and vice-versa. In my works I intend to incorporate elements which stand in opposition to the sense of excess and omnipresent visual overstimulation. To my mind, adopting such an approach is a sign of an artist's sense of responsibility.
