For the third time, the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź is organizing the Review of Art Universities, which is part of the prestigious Fotofestiwal - International Festival of Photography. The event will be an opportunity to present the most outstanding achievements of students of Polish art universities studying photography. The winners of the Review will be announced on June 15 this year.
The aim of the Review, which takes place in a competition format, is to create a platform for exchanging achievements and effects of work of students and teachers related to photography. The initiative refers to the historical exhibition Fotofestiwal - Fabryka Fotografii - International School Review, organized in 2003-2011 in Łódź. It was the debut place of many young artists who significantly influenced the development of photography.
As many as nine art schools will participate in this year’s edition of the Review, including: the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, the Academy of Fine Arts. Jan Matejko in Krakow, Academy of Fine Arts. Władysław Strzemiński in Łódź, University of Arts. Magdalena Abakanowicz in Poznań, Academy of Art in Szczecin, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Academy of Fine Arts. Eugeniusz Geppert in Wrocław and the Higher School of Film, Television and Theater. Leon Schiller in Łódź. The artists will compete for the Rector’s Award of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź and the Audience Award, the winner of which will be selected in an online plebiscite. The winners will be announced on June 15 this year. during the ceremonial opening at the Academic Design Center.
